Full Job Description Overview:
Join Chestnut Health Systems as a Community Health Specialist based in Granite City, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about prevention education and who feels called to work with middle school and high school students. This is a full-time 11-month position.
Responsibilities:
Teach evidence-based substance use prevention curriculum in person to students in Madison County, Illinois. Lead a youth coalition. Share information about local resources. Provide community education and awareness about substance use. Collect and analyze data. Disseminate substance use prevention campaign materials. Manage a budget and complete project reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, public health, or a behavioral health-related field plus minimum 2 years' experience OR master's degree in BH-related field. Intermediate Microsoft Office, Zoom, and online reporting software skills. Public speaking experience. Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills. Valid drivers' license and private auto insurance. Must be insurable. Ability to travel to schools and other locations in the site plan area. Must have home internet connection. Must be able to obtain

Child Abuse Clearance.
Preferred:
Knowledge of community-based prevention and community organizing, prevention theory and strategies, and substance use and related research.
