Open Until Filled The Educator Effectiveness department is seeking new talent to add to its team! This position will work closely with educator preparation providers (EPPs•mostly colleges and universities) across the state to prepare individuals to become teachers and other educators. Duties range from supporting EPPs as they develop new preparation programs and incorporate new standards into their programs, representing the department and ISBE at stakeholder meetings, assisting stakeholders such as EPPs and prospective or current teachers with educator licensure questions, and leading or participating in ISBE efforts to combat teacher shortages and increase teacher diversity. Additionally, this individual will oversee yearly development and enhancement of the Illinois Educator Preparation Profile (IEPP). This individual will work as part of a small team on some initiatives, but will also work autonomously on various projects and tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads nd serves as a team member for various department projects and initiatives related to educator preparation and licensure. Provides quality project management, plans and leads meetings, and analyzes data to make informed decisions on work products. Oversees department grants and contracts, including awarding, monitoring, reporting, and communicating with grantees and contractors. Provides exemplary service and technical assistance to stakeholders via written, telephone, electronic, and personal communication. Conducts audits, develops and delivers trainings, creates/reviews/edits documents, and represents the Agency and department at events and meetings. Analyzes applications for licenses, endorsements, and approvals based upon evidence submitted. Authorizes issuance or notifies applicant of specific deficiencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience. (COPY
OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION
) Two years of experience (in addition to education requirements) working in PK-12 or higher education. Experience using data to drive decisions. Knowledge of the culture and operation of higher education institutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Aptitude to learn new processes and procedures quickly. Exemplar customer service skills. Excellent collaboration skills. Strong organization skills. Ability to use computer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree. (COPY
OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION
) Degree in Education or a business field. Experience working as an academic advisor, within a college department of education, or in college admissions. Experience utilizing college/university data related to student enrollment, graduation, and/or academic strength (GPA, test scores). Experience reviewing or auditing college transcripts. Professional Educator License. Endorsements in Early Childhood and/or Bilingual Education.
