Free YMCA of Greater Indianapolis Membership 20 Hours Per Week of Free Child Care Flexible Hours/ Scheduling Retirement Discounted Program Fees Professional Development The Wellness Advisor I is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of YMCA members utilizing the strength and cardiovascular areas. As an integral part of the wellness team, the Wellness Advisor I will deliver retention appointments for new members, using designated software to engage, track participation, and support members in achieving their wellness goals through the YMCA. Instruct and assist members on safe use of wellness center equipment and rules. Facilitate the connection of members to appropriate YMCA programs and follow up to ensure connections are successful. Reconnect as necessary. Use Mobile Fit to complete and track four appointment wellness onboarding series with new members to promote exercise adherence and assist members in reaching their fitness goals. Follow strength-training guidelines, complying with National YMCA guidelines. Maintain scope of position, connect members to certified personal trainers and YMCA programs for specific needs. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have skills in relationship building, being empathic, and communication in order to perform successfully in this role. Must have knowledge of basic exercise science and wellness principles. Prior (1 year) strength/ conditioning experience is required.
