Job Description

About This Role The Health Educator for Student Well-Being & Health Promotion advances a proactive, student-centered approach to health and well-being at Kansas State University. This position focuses on equipping students with practical skills and strategies that support holistic well-being, academic success, and personal development. The role emphasizes building healthy habits and increasing self-awareness in key areas identified through campus data (e.g., sleep, stress, mental health, and loneliness). The Health Educator develops and delivers student-facing programming, strengthens peer education efforts, and supports campus-wide initiatives that promote health literacy and informed decision-making. In addition to direct education, this position contributes to systems-level efforts that shape a campus environment supportive of well-being. This includes collaborating with campus partners to align messaging and services, identifying and reducing barriers to access, and using data and student voice to inform improvements in programs, practices, and policies. The Health Educator helps advance a coordinated approach that embeds well-being into the broader student experience and institutional systems. About Us The Morrison Family Center for Student Well-Being is an education, outreach, and support office dedicated to enhancing the physical, social, and emotional well-being of K-State students. Our main location is on the second floor of the K-State Student Union. We also have a health education division at Lafene Health Center. We provide essential resources, individual student support, and impactful programs such as the Green Bandana Training, Sexual Assault Prevention, and 'Cats Connect. We also provide physical health education, wellness kits, and guidance on topics like nutrition and sexual health. Worksite Description This position is On-site . All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to
Succeed Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience. Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager. The degree requirement ensures candidates possess the health science knowledge, communication skills and instructional strategies essential for delivering effective health education. These competencies are typically developed and validated only through the comprehensive curriculum and experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a higher education setting Experience working with peer education or student leadership programs Familiarity with national college health data (e.g., NCHA)

Strong facilitation and teaching skills Student-centered approach Ability to translate health concepts into practical, actionable skills Collaboration and relationship-building Data-informed decision-making Program development and evaluation
Additional Role Information:
The applicant must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs and demands of the university community. This can include evening work beyond 5:00 PM, and some weekend work.
