The Lead Coach Position:
Salem Public Schools is committed to empowering educators and fostering structures that prioritize distributed leadership. Lead Coaches are a critical component of the Academics Department and are members of the Academics Team. SPS is seeking experienced Salem coaches to serve as Lead Coach for the duration of one academic year to perform the following duties during the first and Fourth Mondays monthly from 8-12 at
Central Office:
Lead Coach Positions and Responsibilities Pk-5 Literacy Develop agendas, plan and facilitate content coach meetings aligned with district priorities Create/monitor standards landscape Monitor MCAS, STAR, and DCA data Coordinate DCA creation, naming, and sharing between educators and technology department Communicate information from the academics team to other math coaches Facilitate building based work related to PRISM Ensure communication/consistency around district assessments (DCA,MCAS, STAR/CBMs, data required for PRISM) Pk-5 Math Develop agendas, plan and facilitate content coach meetings aligned with district priorities Create/monitor standards landscape Monitor MCAS, STAR, and DCA data Coordinate DCA creation, naming, and sharing between educators and technology department Communicate information from the academics team to other math coaches Provide feedback and contribute to the execution of logistics for professional development and coaching across grade levels in the content area in collaboration with the Academics' Team Directors / Executive Director and partners. Ensure communication/consistency around district assessments (DCA,MCAS and STAR) Science Develop agendas, plan and facilitate Job Alike meetings aligned with district priorities Monitor assessment (MCAS/ACCESS/DCA etc) implementation, communication and data, as needed Contribute to the creation and revision of assessments (DCAs, etc.) as needed Manage and monitor the standards landscape (k-12) Write or contribute to grant applications and implementation with stakeholders as needed Communicate information from Academics Team to Content Coach Team (for input and/or completed decisions) Collaborate with community stakeholders to plan equitable, standards aligned learning experiences/field trips for all grades Social Studies Develop agendas, plan and facilitate Job Alike meetings aligned with district priorities Monitor assessment (MCAS/ACCESS/DCA etc) implementation, communication and data, as needed Contribute to the creation and revision of assessments (DCAs, etc.) as needed Manage and monitor the standards landscape (k-12) Write or contribute to grant applications and implementation with stakeholder as needed Communicate information from Academics Team to Content Coach Team for input and/or completed decisions Interface with NewsELA, Proquest and other curricular products Support implementation of Civics Action Projects Pk-12 ELD Support in planning and facilitating monthly ELD Job-Alike Monitor ACCESS testing and serve as a point person for ML Coaches and teachers during testing Monitor

Model, DCA and STAR data Collaborate with content coaches to ensure SEI strategies are incorporated across all content areas Align progress monitoring for students not meeting ACCESS benchmarks Create writing portfolio exemplars for the ML department Participate in SEI learning walks Early Learning Develop agendas, plan and facilitate PreK coach meetings for work with SPS/community partners Communicate information from the academics team Raise PreK specific information/data to the academics team Track PreK assessment data and communicate this to stakeholders Plan and implement professional development for the year Work with the literacy coach team for PRISM alignment PreK-3 Align and implement components of PRISM Ensure communication/consistency around district assessments 6-8 (any content) Monitor assessment (MCAS/ACCESS/DCA/STAR/etc) implementation, communication and data, as needed Communicate about the creation and revision of assessments (DCAs, etc.) to CMS coaches Communicate about how to manage and monitor the standards landscape (6-8) to CMS coaches Communicate information from Academics Team to other CMS coaches for input and/or completed decisions Lead Coach Opportunities include but are not limited to the following: Develop additional lenses to provide input and evaluate and refine systems to apply to future opportunities advocating for all students across all schools in district advocating all teachers in all content areas across the district representing instructional priorities of individual schools across the district Cross-functional input, learning, action steps; breaking down of silos Gain access to district decision makers for more direct and timely action steps Protected time to visit other schools Learning from external, and high quality instructional partners by participating in district level planning meetings Gain access to district level data available only to District Leadership Hours/guidance for additional licenses Leadership Competencies Developed in this
