Are you ready to spend your summer leading a group of campers on a journey filled with amazing learning experiences, laughter, and lifelong memories? If you are up for the challenge, we want you to join our team as a Health and Wellness Program Counselor at our day camp, Camp Cedar Hill, located in Waltham, MA We are looking for individuals who are energetic and have a passion for working with youth. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) offers invaluable skill-building, leadership, training, and enrichment opportunities that can't be found anywhere else.
Hours and Work Environment:
Camp Dates are June 22 - August 22, 2026. Camp runs Monday - Friday and the role is for 40-hours per week. The camp season includes 1 week of paid training. Pay Rate $17.00 - $19.00 per hour What are some of the perks of working at camp? Paid pre-camp training and professional development. Dependent upon the role, opportunities to receive FREE certifications (lifeguarding, archery, First Aid/CPR, etc.). Networking opportunities and a chance to work with other staff from around the world. Free transportation from select bus stop locations. A Health and Wellness Program Counselor will: Assist in managing the overall health and safety of campers and staff Provide care within certification guidelines and under the direction of the Healthcare Supervisor Supports daily health operations and emergency response Assist the Healthcare Supervisor with reviewing health histories, medications, medical needs, and dietary concerns for incoming campers and staff. Notify unit staff or camp leadership of relevant health conditions requiring monitoring, while maintaining confidentiality. Maintain accurate, organized, up‑to‑date, and confidential health records, including treatment logs and medication documentation, under the supervision of the Healthcare Supervisor. Prepare, restock, and supervise first aid kits for camp units, waterfront areas, off‑camp trips, and specialty program areas. Is this you? Age 18+ by June 15, 2026 Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain prior to the start of camp. Experience working with, or a strong willingness to work with, diverse, high‑energy groups of youth in an outdoor camp environment. Ability to respond appropriately and sensitively to camper well‑being, health, safety, and emergency situations. Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
Other Requirements:
This position requires successful completion of criminal background checks and to enroll as an active member of Girl Scouts. Camp Cedar Hill in Waltham Camp Cedar Hill offers campers entering kindergarten through 12th grade the life-changing experience of summer camp. A hop, skip, and a jump from Boston, on 75 acres of natural beauty, at Camp Cedar Hill, camper activities include archery, swimming in two pools, boating on the pond, high and low ropes challenge courses, and the alpine climbing tower—not to mention favorite camp activities like singalongs, and crafts.to mention favorite camp activities like singalongs and crafts.
