Job Description

Under general supervision, assumes responsibility for the nursing management and evaluation of care provided to patients who participate in the practice of breastfeeding. Functions as a primary care provider in collaboration with physicians and other health team members. Plans, implements and evaluates educational programs related to breast feeding. Education:
Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required
Experience:
2 years full-time (or equivalent) directly related clinical experience
Skills:
Knowledge of techniques and the application of lactation theory. § Skill in written and oral communication § Skill in using computers and personal productivity applications § Ability to instruct and support patients § Ability to assess patients, plan effective interventions and evaluate outcomes from those interventions.
Licensures, Certifications:
Current registration with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse. IBCLC certification required Healthcare Provider CPR biennial Additional certifications (i.e.
ACLS, PALS, NRP
) for specialty care areas are required upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time
  • Visual acuity, manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and communicate orally.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking and lifting (Up to 20 lbs). Working Conditions Normal patient care environment of the post-partum nursery area.
  • Routine exposure to body fluids.
Pay Range $32.18 - $49.46 Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
