Job Description

This Is Not Your Average Job. If you're looking for a summer filled with adventure, leadership, and real impact, then this is your sign. Camp Thunderbird is hiring a Horseback Instructor! 📍 Located in Bemidji, Minnesota Thunderbird is where traditional summer camp meets outdoor adventure. Our program builds confidence and independence in kids 8-14 through our 20+ activities. We are a "learn-to-ride" program, and we teach our campers from the ground up to build their confidence and experience. Do you remember your first time on a horse? How did it shape your life? This is your opportunity to provide a core experience to kids this summer. At Thunderbird, you'll guide confidence development, transform riding skills, and nurture our campers' love for horseback.
This could be you:
Four hours a day: work in a small staff team with three other co-instructors to coach basic and intermediate riding techniques to campers aged 8-14. Be a part of a team of four staff who care for and manage the well-being of our horses, cleaning, feeding, grooming, and riding each day. In the evenings, help out with fun, silly, memory-building programs. Be a part of our community built on 80 years of camp life. Our 100+ staff team is dedicated and connected from day one. Our instructors are more than just instructors; they're family. So, why Thunderbird? Leadership experiences. Work outside every day - in the stunning Northwoods of Minnesota. Develop your teaching, training, and management skills. Join a tight-knit and well-connected staff team. Gain friends for life. Access to 80 years of our extensive Alumni network database. Internship opportunities. Develop the next chapter for campers who have grown up in our community. They're ready for more responsibility, challenge, and leadership.
