Join our dynamic team at Ready To Pedal as a Youth Bike Riding Instructor, where your passion for working with kids meets your desire to inspire the next generation of riders. With a focus on fun, safety, and skill development, you'll introduce children to the exhilarating world of bike riding. This role is perfect for individuals who are energetic, patient, possess an infectious enthusiasm for helping kids reach developmental milestones, and have a knack for working with kids of various ages and abilities, including those with special needs.
Responsibilities:
Assess riders' abilities and develop personalized training plans and achievable goals to help them become independent riders Conduct fun and engaging bike riding lessons and activities designed specifically for children, focusing on building confidence, balance, and coordination. As a coach, you will be trained in age-appropriate programs that cater to the needs and abilities of young riders, emphasizing fundamental skills such as starting, stopping, cornering, descending, and navigating obstacles, all while emphasizing safety at all times. Communicate effectively with riders, parents (if coaching minors), and colleagues to provide updates, schedule changes, and feedback in a timely manner. Work closely with families, offering insights and advice on their child's biking journey and how to support it outside of lessons. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols during coaching sessions and events. Create and implement age-appropriate training programs, biking games and challenges that cater to the abilities and interests of young learners. Adapt and modify teaching techniques to accommodate a wide range of disabilities, including but not limited to mobility impairments, sensory processing disorders, and developmental delays. Foster a supportive and positive learning environment, encouraging children to develop confidence and a love for biking.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children in a coaching or teaching capacity, preferably in a sports or outdoor recreation setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Patience, creativity, and adaptability to engage children of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Passion for cycling and a commitment to spreading this enthusiasm to a younger audience through your ability to inspire and motivate. A patient, encouraging, and adaptable demeanor. Certification in first aid and CPR a plus.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
