Clinical Scope:
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the provision of patient care. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness. Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF. Perform physical exam and health histories. Provide health promotions, counseling, and education. Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions. Care provided in coordination with other healthcare professionals. Accountable for meeting with all patients based on the unit to assess their needs and document form of feeding/risks/benefits. Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations. Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization. Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate. Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes. Performs comprehensive lactation assessment of the mother and her infant within the hospital setting in accordance with the policy and guidelines of postpartum and newborn nursery care required for Government beneficiaries. Provides comprehensive care to the perinatal mother desiring to lactate. Assesses mothers and newborns for normal/abnormal anatomy to determine ability to breastfeed. Creates a social environment that promotes learning for staff and patients. Conducts bedside lactation rounds daily.
Requirements:
U.S. citizen
Degree/Education:
Bachelor's Degree of Nursing. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Experience:
Three years of experience in nursing as identified in the TO after graduation. Active BLS from
American Red Cross or Heart Association Company Overview:
