Albany, NY Job Details $55,000 - $57,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Pension plan Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Presentations for conferences or internal meetings Educational talks Bachelor's degree Substance abuse Training delivery Full Job Description The Prevention Navigator will deliver a wide range of prevention and early intervention activities addressing substance use, gambling, mental health, risk for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and related concerns to a population of undergraduate and graduate college students using a comprehensive public health framework. This work is delivered under the Center for Behavioral Health Promotion and Applied Research's Project ACCESS (Achieving College Completion Through Engaged Support Services); interventions include the delivery of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) for substance use, gambling, risk for suicide, and related concerns, and other prevention, intervention, training, outreach, and education efforts being evaluated within this project. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration funds the project. Essential Functions The Prevention Navigator will be expected to regularly attend and contribute to team meetings Help design and deliver educational programs and workshops, and participate in outreach efforts They may also have opportunities to contribute to project dissemination efforts, such as manuscript development, local and national presentations, and workshops. This position requires in-person work on the uptown campus of the University at Albany-SUNY and allows teleworking with supervisor and project director approval.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in psychology, human development, social work, public health, or a related field Knowledge of substance use and mental health concerns among college students and young adults Experience facilitating educational workshops or presentations Excellent oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing 1:1 supportive or mentoring services Experience engaging in outreach activities; experience facilitating substance use prevention services

Salary Range :
