Compensation Range:
$17.00 - $22.10 _The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
  • Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and engaging instructor to serve as a Latin Dance Study Instructor for an 8-week research study examining the impact of a Latin dance intervention on loneliness among adult cancer survivors.
In this role, the instructor will work collaboratively with the research team and fellow instructors to prepare and co-lead structured, evidence-informed dance sessions while supporting study-related activities throughout the intervention period. The instructor will play a key role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participant engagement, promotes physical activity, and is responsive to the unique needs of a clinical population. This position requires teaching twice-weekly, 60-minute classes over the 8-week study period, for a total of 32 sessions. In addition to leading classes, the instructor will contribute to session planning, attend study-related meetings as needed, and ensure adherence to study protocols and participant safety guidelines.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • + Prepare and co-lead Latin dance classes for adult cancer survivors, including developing session plans, adapting choreography to accommodate varying physical abilities and treatment-related limitations, and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment that promotes physical activity and overall well-being.
+ Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity when working with a clinical research population. Demonstrate awareness of participants' medical and emotional needs, ensuring respectful communication and a safe, comfortable atmosphere at all times + Adhere strictly to study protocols and follow guidance from the research team to ensure compliance with all research requirements. Support proper documentation, participant safety, and consistency in program delivery across all sessions + Collaborate closely with co-instructor(s) to plan lesson content, coordinate instruction, and ensure smooth, cohesive class delivery. Work together to create a welcoming and inclusive experience, monitor participant engagement and safety during sessions, and adjust instruction as needed to meet participant needs + Attend and actively participate in study-related meetings throughout the study period, including planning sessions, training, and check-ins with the research team. Provide input on class structure, participant engagement, and any observed challenges or opportunities for program improvement. + Other duties as assigned.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • + High School diploma required + Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • + Experience with Latin dance (e.
