Job Description

Description A Brief Overview Provides and plans safe efficient age specific nursing care for patients/families related to lactation services. What You Will Do Patient care/assessment Lactation program operations Communication and collaboration Leadership Involved in learning and self-improvement Age specific knowledge Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications Education Other Accredited Program:
Diploma in Nursing (Required) or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required) (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) Work Experience 1+ years Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of needs of antepartal and postpartal mother. (Required proficiency) Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. (Required proficiency) Evidence of ongoing continuing education and professional development. (Required proficiency) Uses selected technical (lactation) and office equipment (e.g., fax, computer, telephone) to meet patient and family needs.
