Header Overview I am looking for a Registered Dietitian to help patients reclaim their health in the Houston area. We are looking for the right partner to help establish and build a wellness program based on the functional medicine approach to healthcare. The program is in it's development phase so hours and compensation model are open to discussion. Under the supervision of an MD, administer a program to patients interested in using food as medicine. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and dietary needs. Along with supervising MD, create a specific plan for each patient to manage and reverse their chronic disease. Develop and implement individualized care plans that are based on the "Food is Medicine" approach. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, dietetics principles, and clinical nutrition practices across various settings such as acute care, geriatrics, and long-term care. Proven experience in supervising dietary staff and managing care plans within a hospital or healthcare environment. Expertise in specialized areas including tube feeding management, diagnostic evaluation, and dietary interventions for complex conditions. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to develop tailored nutrition strategies that promote health improvement. Proficiency in health coaching techniques to motivate behavioral change related to weight loss, dietary habits, and overall wellness. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and communication within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail and compliance with regulatory standards.
