PREVENTION EDUCATOR

Full time opening. Creative and Flexible candidate needed to work in schools to provide research-based programming regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other addition issues. The Educator plays a vital role in reducing substance misuse and fostering healthy behaviors. This position involves educating communities, implementing prevention programs, and collaborating with organizations to create lasting positive change. The Prevention Educator provides essential support and resources to individuals and families impacted by substance use.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Prevention Educator reports to and receives supervision from the Asst. Director of Prevention Services.

QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS

degree required in Human Services or relevant topic area, or AS with prevention experience considered. Must be free from active addiction and non-program participant. CPS/CPP preferred or must obtain within first 5 years of employment. Valid NYS Driver's License and method of transportation required. Pre employment background/post offer drug screening required. CARF and NHSC accredited. You may be a Mandated Reporter if you fall into one of these groups: Certain employee types, including direct care or support staff and individuals employed by or volunteering at state-operated or licensed/certified facilities or agencies under the Justice Center's jurisdiction. OR Human service professionals, including medical/clinical professionals, educators, law enforcement, and many others. Additionally, the associate is committed to the principles of the agency compliance program; providing ethically and promoting an agency-wide culture that emphasizes integrity in all practices and services that we provide at UConnectCare.
