Our instructors play a vital role in empowering workplaces, families, schools, and communities with the life saving skills needed to respond confidently during emergencies. Instructors may teach corporate onsite classes, community courses, blended learning skills sessions, and workplace safety trainings across a variety of industries. Responsibilities Deliver engaging American Red Cross BLS, CPR/AED, and First Aid training courses in accordance with current ARC guidelines and standards Facilitate hands on skills sessions that build participant confidence and real world emergency response readiness Adapt teaching styles to meet the needs of diverse learners including healthcare providers, childcare staff, industrial employees, educators, coaches, parents, and community members Demonstrate proper CPR, AED, airway management, bleeding control, choking rescue, and emergency response techniques professionally and accurately Maintain a positive, encouraging, and interactive classroom environment Ensure all required course paperwork, attendance records, and certification documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time Arrive prepared, professional, and punctual to all assigned training sessions Communicate effectively with the Purpose Safety Plus team regarding scheduling, equipment needs, class updates, and student concerns Stay current on Red Cross guideline updates, instructor requirements, and industry best practices Represent Purpose Safety Plus professionally while helping strengthen relationships with clients and community partners Qualifications & Skills Current American Red Cross Instructor certification in: CPR/AED/First Aid Basic Life Support (BLS) Strong public speaking and classroom facilitation skills Ability to confidently teach and engage groups of varying sizes and backgrounds Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service skills Ability to create an energetic, welcoming, and supportive learning environment Experience teaching workplace safety, healthcare, childcare, industrial, or community audiences preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Houston area and surrounding cities Experience with blended learning courses and skills sessions preferred Required Equipment & Training Supplies Instructors must have access to training equipment that meets current American Red Cross 2025 to 2026 training standards. CPR Manikins & Feedback Devices Adult and infant manikins in good working condition Instrumented feedback devices capable of providing real time compression depth and rate feedback Infant manikins required for Pediatric and BLS level courses Airway & Ventilation Equipment Adult and infant pocket masks with one way valves Adult and pediatric bag valve masks (BVMs) Disposable training valves and filters for student use AED Training Equipment AED training units with reusable pads Pediatric pads or pediatric mode capability for applicable courses First Aid Training Supplies Bandaging and splinting materials Non latex gloves Epinephrine auto injector trainers Inhaler trainers and spacers for asthma response training Multimedia & Administrative Tools Laptop or tablet capable of presenting course videos and training materials HDMI or wireless casting capability for monitors and projectors Current instructor and participant materials for applicable curricula Why Join Purpose Safety Plus?
