Position Information Position Title NUHOPE Educator Requisition Number H01352P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week Flexible up to 29 Months per year 12 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $17-$25 Depending on Experience FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function NUHOPE is a suicide awareness community outreach program hosted by Weber State University. The Educator/Instructor(s) are responsible for teaching suicide prevention and mental health trainings in Junior High and High Schools in Weber and Davis Counties. Additionally, instructors may be asked to teach sessions in the community in partnership with the university or local health departments.
Responsibilities include:
working with program coordinator on schedule availability; maintaining trainings and certifications; preparing for and giving educational training sessions; providing trainees with appropriate materials; arriving to each session prepared and on time; collect and review evaluation forms from each session; improve trainings based on feedback; provide the program coordinator with information and data on sessions completed, attendance at the sessions, and mileage for reimbursement. Must attend monthly staff meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 4pm and coalition meetings as assigned. •This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Demonstrated ability to instruct others Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint Must be able to lift 20-30lbs Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in health related field. Experience training or teaching health interventions Certified to teach suicide education and prevention programs (eg. Signs of Suicide, Youth Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, Working Minds, etc.) Background Check? Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
