Special Educator- Two Roads Academy

Job Overview:

Two Roads Academy, an approved therapeutic independent school, located in Colchester, VT, is seeking a Special Educator. We are searching for a candidate who is excited to be a part of a small team, providing individualized special education services to students with behavioral and learning needs and challenges. We are a close-knit community who are seeking to make a difference in students' lives. This person will be responsible for being an active member of a team and must be willing to work in an interdisciplinary manner- working with Behavioral Clinicians, a General Educator and Behavior Therapists. This person will collaborate on serving students with Specific Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Other Health Impairment, and Emotional Disturbance. Ideal candidates will be responsible for implementing, contributing to, and upholding Individualized Education Plans. The Special Educator will engage in co-planning with the General Educator- ensuring that students can successfully access all academic instruction and opportunities. The Special Educator will collaborate with Local Education Authorities, parents, and each student to create programming which is individualized and in alignment with the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), supporting them. Interwoven throughout our programming are components of Applied Behavior Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Training, trauma-informed perspective, and restorative practices. We believe that by taking this approach, we can provide students an academic experience where they feel successful and supported, in an environment that fosters inclusion, embodies radical acceptance, and de-stigmatizes educational gaps and differences in individual abilities, styles, and approaches to learning. We are seeking a Licensed Special Education Teacher to work full-time, in-person support to students grades 7-12 beginning in August.

Pay range:

$60-$70,000
