We're looking for an enthusiastic coach with experience in gymnastics, martial arts, dance (or other sports) who enjoys coaching and playing outdoors with kids year-round. Parkour is high energy, playful, and creative. Through parkour, we teach kids to use natural human movements like jumping, crawling, and climbing to move creatively and play in the spaces around them. As a Lead Coach, you will lead youth parkour classes in local parks. Candidates should embody the joy of movement and play while maintaining a professional presentation.
Required skills:
2+ years experience coaching youth ages 5-18 in sports, gymnastics, martial arts, dance, or similar Available to work 3-5 days a week during our program hours (usually between 2-8pm on weekdays and 10am-2pm on weekends with occasional weekend afternoon events) Capable of managing groups as large as 10 solo or with a volunteer Proficient customer service skills Interacts with students, their family members, and clients such as school administrators in a positive and professional manner Adapts quickly to changing situations and come up with solutions on the fly Works well as part of our team, is punctual, and communicates effectively with staff and supervisors Has own vehicle to travel from site to site (including north, west, and south Seattle and Eastside) Has phone with data for signing in/out students, and access to internet, computer, and webcam for meetings Certified in adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED Proof of Covid vaccination Minimum 17 years of age Preferred skills: One or more years of experience coaching youth parkour (outdoors preferred) 2+ years experience practicing parkour (especially outdoors) 2+ years experience in customer service, including email and phone communications Parkour coaching certification (Leap to Lead, ADAPT, ParkourEDU, etc.)KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching (75%) School year: Coach 8-16 classes per week for ages 4 to adult with a focus on youth (may include some weekends) according to curriculums and performance standards determined by head coachSummer:
Coach full-day or half-day summer camps; may also coach 1-2 teen/adult classes on evenings/weekends following curriculums written by head coach Staff events up to 6 hr per month, which may include some weekends Customer Service (10%) Greet and build rapport with parents before/after classes; recommend class, camp, or workshop opportunities to students and parents to deepen participation Email parents and students progress updates and other updates specific to your classes; answer parent questions specific to your classes; complete re-enrollment phone calls as needed Ongoing Training (10%) Maintain certifications in first aid/CPR, SafeSport Attend weekly coach trainings Complete 12-week Leap to Lead Coach Development Program (spring or fall) Coach and Volunteer Mentorship (5%) Work with assistant coaches and volunteers; help train assistant coaches and Leap to Lead volunteers under the direction of the head coach Utilize parent, teen, and adult volunteers to help classes run more smoothlyHOURS, LOCATIONS, AND CONDITIONS
Parkour Visions delivers programs at many locations around Seattle and Portland. This position will require online meetings and in-person coaching at local parks, community centers, and schools. Candidate must be located in the Seattle, WA area.Weekly hours:
This is an hourly role with 15-25 hours per week during the school year or 20-40 during the summer when we teach camps. We run programs 45 weeks out of the year. Hours may fluctuate from one season to the next, depending on available shifts.Compensation:
