Job Description

About us Fayette County Family Resource Network, Inc. is a nonprofit located in Oak Hill, WV. Our goal is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through resource development, strategic planning, and community collaboration. The Mental Health Educator will be responsible for providing evidence-based curriculum, with fidelity, at Meadow Bridge and Midland Trail, focusing on grades 6-9. The Mental Health Educator works as part of a team and reports directly to the Project Director of the Fayette County Partners for Success Grant.
Responsibilities include:
Implement "Too Good for Drugs" in assigned school with Fayette County, completing the program with fidelity, and other curriculum as identified Build positive, professional relationships with students, teachers, school counselors, and administrators Encourage student participation in discussions, activities, and prevention programming Coordinate scheduling and program delivery within assigned schools Maintain accurate documentation of all services, lessons, and student engagement Lead youth coalition activities in assigned schools, these activities may be outside of school hours Support community outreach, prevention events, and family engagement activities Attend required meetings, trainings, workshops, and professional development opportunities Lead structured activities and mentor campers during the summer at Camp SOAR Any other tasks as identified Qualifications for the position: The successful candidate will be experienced with community engagement strategies, flexible, resourceful, well organized, able to work independently and as a part of a team.
Additional qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Health, Education, Human Services, Social Work or another related field, preferred. OR documented experience working with middle and/or high school youth in education, prevention, or behavioral health settings Quality work ethic, commitment to continuous professional growth and development Ability to problem-solve and communicate effectively Ability to carry out assignments with minimal supervision Public speaking
