Job Description

Health Information Manager Birmingham, AL About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Health Information Manager to lead and support Release of Information operations within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations, managing staff performance, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Release of Information, healthcare operations leadership, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead daily Release of Information operations and team performance. Manage supervisors and team leads to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence. Monitor requests to ensure compliance with contractual service levels and regulatory requirements. Partner with healthcare leadership and key stakeholders to maintain strong client relationships. Coach, develop, and manage team members, including performance management and employee development. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal privacy regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards. Analyze operational metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement. Support training initiatives and promote industry best practices. Qualifications RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) credential required. Minimum 2 years of Release of Information experience required. Prior leadership experience within healthcare operations required. Strong knowledge of HIPAA, privacy regulations, and medical record release processes. Experience managing teams, performance metrics, and operational workflows. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Ability to travel locally within the assigned region. What We're Looking For Proven leadership and team development skills.
