Where You'll Work St. Thomas More Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is the cornerstone of health care services for Fremont County and surrounding southern Colorado communities. St. Thomas More offers 24 hour emergency and trauma services; inpatient acute care; intensive care; labor, delivery, and nursery care; multi-modal diagnostic imaging; inpatient and outpatient surgical services; rehabilitation services; cardiopulmonary rehab and diagnostics; sleep studies; an infusion center; wound care; and a community blood bank. We are on a mission to provide high quality care with zero harm to patients and employees. Our board-certified physicians specialize in emergency medicine, internal medicine, urology, bariatric services, obstetrics/gynecology services, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and osteopathic treatment. This is an expert level position that leads and performs all job duties in the Health Information Management Department. A qualified candidate is expected to provide a high level of service for the department, support, and train all the Health Information Management job functions. Approves and coordinates vacation schedules, edits and approves timesheets. Provides answers to staff regarding release-of-information, and HIPAA procedures. Conducts ongoing audits to assure quality standards are met. Proficient in all the Epic work queues. The Lead applicant is also required to maintain the privacyand confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to the policies that govern the Health Information Management department. Job Requirements In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required Associate Degree Preferred Completion of a related healthcare degree program, preferred Registered Health Information Tech American Health Management Associationr (AHIMA credential - RHIT or RHIA) preferred 3-4 years of health information management experience in an acute care setting OR 1 year HIM experience in an acute caresetting, successful completion of an HIM Program and
RHIA/RHIT
exam eligible Experience with the electronic health record (EHR), health information systems and applications required.
