Director - Health Information Management Support Services

Complexity of Work:

Requires critical thinking skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Demonstrates effective time management skills. Requires thorough knowledge of provider documentation workflows in the electronic medical record. Provides guidance to other departments/clinicians in identifying and resolving issues related to patient identity, medical record number merges, and chart corrections. Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and utilizing an electronic medical record system. Possesses thorough knowledge of Federal, State and regulatory requirements related to Health Information Management operations for areas of responsibility.

Required Work Experience:

Five (5) years of Health Information Management Director experience.
