Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of the Health Information Supervisor (HIS), and with close oversight of lead CMR personnel, this position will provide administrative program support to Central Medical Records Department at Dodge Correctional Institution. Primary duty is to perform electronic medical record (EMR) digitization of paper Health Care Records (HCRs) using ADM/EDM document management software, and additional office support duties as assigned. The LTE shall comply with the Department's administrative rules, agency's policies and procedures, and federal and Wisconsin laws governing health records. This position is 20 hours/week for a total of 1039 hours per year. Although this position is considered limited term employment, it is a position that is not expected to end in the next 6 to 12 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES A.
Perform EMR Digitization duties. A1. Index and validate digitized paper HCRs using ADM/EDM document management software. A2. Enter appropriate tracking information for validated paper HCRs into tracking database. A3. Audit EMR chart to ensure accurate digitization of the paper HCRs. A4. Track, log into database and destroy paper HCRs records after accurately digitized. B. Perform miscellaneous office duties, complete required training modules assigned by DOC and supervisor and complete special projects assigned by supervisor and lead CMR personnel. B1. Supervise inmate worker as required. B2. Answer telephone calls, and refer caller to other employees, as needed. B3. Notify lead CMR personnel or HIS when office supplies are needed. B4. Complete training assigned by DOC Central Office and supervisor. B5. Complete projects regarding HCRs per request of supervisor and lead CMR personnel. B6. Complete other administrative support tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 1.
Ability to follow complex procedures regarding management of Health Care Records and follow direction from superiors. 2. Ability to utilize EMR software, as well as scanning software and hardware. 3. Ability to use electronic databases and search for information accurately. 4. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Access. 5. Ability to work independently, and as a member of a team. 6. Ability to meet daily deadlines. 7. Basic knowledge of health care records confidentiality laws. Interested in joining the Central Medical Records team?
