JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Completion of high school or its equivalent. Knowledge of computer software such as Windows, Office and Internet use. Ability to perform support activities in patient care as required through completion of an approved Vo-Tech program or certified as a Nurse Aide through the Office of Long Term Care, graduate of the
SBMC PCT
program, or after completion of an RN/LPN Nursing Student Skills Checklist completed by their nursing instructor. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an approved program to utilize the RN/LPN Nursing Student Skills Checklist. PCT experience within the last year will be considered in lieu of formal training.
Note:
High school vo-tech program requires student skills checklist to be completed by instructor. Experience Knowledge of patient care technician practices and related patient care activities and clinic policies and procedures as acquired through on-the-job training. Knowledge of basic non-technical skills as acquired through on-the-job training. Physical This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal clinicl environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors. Close eye work. Hearing within normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Carrying up to 40 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional stress related to patient load.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing assigned patient care activities and assisting licensed nursing personnel. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, licensed nurse, licensed physician, or designee. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call-back as required by facility. Attendance is an essential function of this job.
