Endoscopy Technician/Healthcare Tech

Endoscopy Technician/Health Care Technician Part time (25-30 hours) Heathcare Technician needed for a busy Ambulatory Surgery Center specializing in Endoscopy.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Handles endoscopes with care, cleaning and storing as per policy and manufacturer's guidelines Prepares endoscopes for cleaning in Medivators. Utilizes Medivators in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines. Documents scope repairs in Provation system, alerting lead tech/charge nurse of any scopes in need of repair. Participates with inservice opportunities and staff meetings. Keeps work area clean, neat and stocked. Assist in training of new personnel to the technician area. Cleans equipment per manufacturer's guidelines and per policy. Assists in preparing patient for designated procedure. Observes universal precautions. Reports patient condition to Nurse. Refers situations beyond ability or function to proper personnel. Assists with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies. Informs nurse in charge/lead tech when leaving for break, lunch, or for the day. Adheres to facility's HIPAA guidelines by maintaining patient's right to privacy. Cleans rooms after each patient and prepares for the next patient. Knowledgeable of potential exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., patient body fluids, disinfectant chemicals. Participates as a team member Demonstrates cost effective use of supplies and other facility resources Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and one Saturday per month. Hours will vary (center is open from 0600-1600 but shifts will end by 2pm) but will typically be 25-30 hours per week.
