Job Description
- Job Summary
- The Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT I) provides basic emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with applicable state laws, departmental policies, and established clinical protocols.
- Essential Functions
- + Provides basic emergency medical care in accordance with applicable state scope of practice and departmental policies and procedures.
- Qualifications
- + Technical School completion of a state-approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program required + Technical School EMT Advanced course preferred + Experience working in a hospital-based emergency department, ambulance service, or critical care transport unit preferred
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- + Knowledge of EMS protocols, emergency response procedures, and basic life support techniques.
- Licenses and Certifications
- + Drivers License
- MDOT Medical Physical in state of employment required + EMT
- Emergency Medical Tech Certification from the applicable state EMS authority required + BCLS
- Basic Life Support required
