Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Med Tech to provide exceptional support and medical assistance to residents in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, medical documentation, and medication administration, with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and memory care needs. As a vital member of our care team, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical records. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring specialized care. Duties Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support in compliance with individualized care plans. Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assess residents' health status. Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions through tailored activities and supportive interventions. Support tube feeding procedures and catheter care while maintaining strict adherence to infection control standards. Document all patient care activities thoroughly using medical terminology and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to update medical records and communicate changes in residents' conditions effectively. Maintain a safe environment by following safety protocols related to assisted living, hospice care, and acute care settings. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is required. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to senior care and specialized populations like those with disabilities or neurodegenerative conditions. Experience administering medications and performing procedures such as tube feeding or catheter care is highly desirable. Familiarity with caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or memory care services. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality in healthcare settings. Previous roles involving medical records management or medical office experience are advantageous but not mandatory.
