In this vital role, you will provide a combination of technical, administrative, and maintenance support to ensure the lab functions smoothly and efficiently.
Primary responsibilities include:
Performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical tasks, including specimen preparation and troubleshooting test-related issues. Assisting with reagent preparation and inventory management. Monitoring and documenting laboratory temperatures. Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas and equipment. Supporting quality control and quality assurance activities. Performing computer-based tasks related to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
Salary Range:
$34.41
38/hour Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED or HiSET). Prior experience handling patient specimens. Strong knowledge of reagent preparation, quality control protocols, and instrument maintenance. Proficiency in using laboratory and hospital information systems. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite. Physical ability to lift and move lab equipment, transport reagents and supplies, and perform repetitive motions (e.g., pipetting). Ability to work in a lab environment with variable temperatures, instrument noise, and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes, and biological agents. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience operating moderate to high-volume chemistry analyzers is highly preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and repair instruments and lab equipment is preferred.
