DEFINITION
Under the supervision of the assigned administrator and/or the Health Services Coordinator, performs specialized health services for students in regular education and special education programs within limits of licensure; administers medication and performs other specialized health care assessments of students as a result of illness, injury, seizure, or other medical conditions; may be placed at one location or travel to various school sites, ride the bus, attend field trips or other travel to perform a wide variety of health records; assists in coordination of medical screening of students, disseminates health information, provides emergency medical care and related medical duties as required; performs a variety of clerical and supportive tasks for the district or school office and related work as assigned. Qualifications Experience:
Two (2) years acute nursing experience, involvement with public contact, and working with children with special needs in a school setting is preferred.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program or junior college required.
Certificates/Licenses:
Possession of an active and valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certificate required. Possession of a current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
