Emergency Medical Technician

Job Summary Haddam Ambulance is hiring experienced EMTs for part-time positions 12-24 hours/week. Schedule includes days, nights, and weekends. Wages are competitive. We prefer at least 1 year experience. HVAS provides access to CAPCE approved online training and has training requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Respond appropriately and safely to emergency calls while adhering to traffic laws, and provide immediate medical attention at the scene and during transport. Administer appropriate basic life support (BLS) treatment following appropriate protocols. Operate and maintain medical equipment, ensuring proper function. Handle heavy lifting and physical demands required for patient extrication and transport. Document all responses and patient interactions appropriately and accurately, and in a timely manner.

Daily tasks include:

vehicle checks and inventory; light chores around building.

Requirements:

Valid Connecticut EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification or licensure. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. We will obtain a background check.

Pay:

$24.00 - $25.00 per hour
