Job Description
Overview Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Pediatric Home Health Aide (HHA), where your dedication makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this vital role, you will provide personalized, attentive care to pediatric patients at our skilled Nursing Facility located in Lakeland, FL, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This position offers an enriching opportunity to work closely with children requiring specialized care, including those with developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, or recovering from medical procedures. All positions are paid, recognizing the importance of your contribution to patient care. Responsibilities Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, feeding, and grooming, to promote independence and comfort Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems Support medical procedures like catheter care, medication administration, and wound management under supervision or as trained Observe and report any changes in the child's condition or behavior promptly to healthcare professionals Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safety during transfers and positioning Provide companionship and emotional support to children with medically complex conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation Skills Strong patient observation skills to detect subtle changes in health status Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pediatric care and chronic conditions Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate patient care tailored to individual needs CPR certification and training in emergency response procedures Experience with hospice care, dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Skilled in using medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, and other vital sign monitoring tools Embark on a rewarding career dedicated to improving the quality of life for pediatric patients.
