  • $56,476 Testing for the position will be held on June 26, 2026 Collier County Emergency Medical Service Department will be holding an EMT pre-employment testing.
This testing is for job bank positions only. The Collier County EMS Department may fill full time positions from the job bank pool of employees. if you are interesting in becoming a full time employee with Collier County EMS the job bank employment is the avenue to become full time. Full time positions are filled as soon as they become available and job bank employees are eligible to apply as soon as initial onboard training is complete. Job bank positions require your availability for a minimum of eight (8) twenty four (24) hour shifts per month to include weekends and holidays. Availability does not guarantee a shift assignment.; however you will be eligible to work full time hours up to 168 hours per pay period. There are no guarantees you will work a minimum number of hours. Essential Functions Promptly respond to emergency calls and safely navigate to the scene with precision and speed. Assess the nature and severity of patients' conditions upon arrival, taking vital signs and determining appropriate treatment. Administer life-saving treatments and basic medical care, including CPR, oxygen therapy, and spinal immobilization. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts and ensure optimal patient care. Maintain and inspect medical equipment, vehicles, and supplies for safe operation and readiness. Other duties as required by the position of EMT. Link to full list of essential functions-EMT Classification Minimum Qualifications Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in emergency medicine, including Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification. Fingerprinting required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
Must attain and maintain valid state license as an EMT within sixty (60) days of employment. Must attain and maintain valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course) certifications; CPR and EVOC courses will be provided by EMS. May be required to attain and maintain other certifications as related to position or for specialized areas of assignment. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a county vehicle as provided in
CMA 5805.
It is strongly preferred that applicants live or are planning to relocate to an area within 60 nautical miles of 8075 Lely Cultural Pwky Naples FL. Applicants are required to submit a complete application and attach a resume. If you are invited to testing, you will need the following original documents: National Registry EMT or Paramedic Certificate (must obtain Florida State License if you possess). Driver's License (Florida issued before first date of employment) Two passport size photographs, computer photos acceptable. If you do not bring the above items, you will not be allowed to test. Supplemental information Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County's Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
