Jump-start your career as a(an) Pharmacy Tech Free Standing ED PRN today with HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. Job Summary and Qualifications The Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) Pharmacy and Supply Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the pharmacy and supply operations and team members to ensure safe and effective medication and supplies availability, distribution, storage, security and control. Responsibilities also include ensuring receiving, ordering, and prompt distribution of all medication and supplies within the facility, reviewing and maintaining all Min/Max levels for storeroom safety stock as well as all other stocking locations including automated dispensing cabinets. The pharmacist will also support the creation and ensure enforcement of policies and procedures, quality assurance and regulatory compliance in conjunction with the technicians and key stakeholders. The FSED Pharmacist will provide supervision and support of the FSED pharmacy and supply technicians. The FSED Pharmacy and Supply pharmacist fulfills departmental responsibilities within the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of the division and hospital, comply with all regulatory standards. The pharmacist will work with the FSED Pharmacy and Supply Manager to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all regulatory standards
Major Responsibilities:
Register with appropriate State Board of Pharmacy as the Consultant of Record, if required Ensures FSEDs are in compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), State Board of Pharmacy, hospital policies and procedures, and other Federal and State regulations Participates in quality and regulatory reviews and audits, and resolves any gaps found timely and accurately Maintain appropriate controlled substance records as required by regulatory requirements and policies and procedures Support and participate in the goals of the organization's quality improvement, risk management and patient safety program to include but not limited to national Patient Safety Goals, Core Measures, and HCAHPS medication related initiatives
Education and Experience:
B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy Required Knowledgeable and proficient in the legal responsibilities of the pharmacist to the facility and all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services Required 3 years of acute care hospital experience Preferred Experience of supporting offsite locations of acute care hospitals Preferred Current Pharmacy license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy Required Current consultant pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy if applicable Required HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
