Job Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging exams according to established protocols and safety standards. This role prepares and positions patients, operates radiographic equipment, and produces accurate images for interpretation. The technologist maintains patient safety and comfort, supports efficient workflow, and assists with equipment and room readiness. Other duties may be assigned. Will perform duties consistent with the needs of the communities served, in a manner that reflects the physical, psychological and spiritual healing ministry of Christ.
Job Duties:
Performs radiographic procedures in the assigned area with a high degree of image quality. Supports AHRA professional standards by promoting high quality imaging practice, maintaining compliance with regulatory expectations, and demonstrating effective communication, leadership, and accountability within the imaging environment. Assists with orientation of new staff and students. Keeps area supplied and clean. Releases CD's and other items per policy to patients. Performs office responsibilities when required. Participates in in-services. Monitors vital signs as necessary. Performs HIS, RIS and PACS functions as necessary. Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense. Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives. Supervision includes technologists in orientation and radiology students. Other duties as assigned.
Required:
Certifications/Licenses/Experience:
Didactic coursework and eligibility must follow ARRT certification requirements. The individual must hold current ARRT certification in Radiography and maintain annual registration with the certifying organization. The individual must be certified within three to six months of hire in accordance with department policy Must be CPR certified (within 6 months of hire date)
