PCT - Patient Care Tech

PCTs play a crucial role in the delivery of patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety. Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition to the nursing staff. Support for

Nursing Staff:

Collaborate with registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to provide comprehensive patient care. Assist with the setup and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies. Keep patient rooms clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Communication and Documentation:

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing emotional support.

Infection Control:

Follow strict infection control procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Adhere to hospital policies and guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) use.

Safety and Emergency Response:

Be prepared to respond to emergencies and assist in evacuations if necessary. Promote a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Professional Development:

Stay up to date with the latest CPCT best practices. Comply with all hospital policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Kansas. Basic life support (BLS) certification is required. If not certified, Minneola Healthcare can assist in obtaining certification. Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, empathetic nature. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality.

Working Conditions:

Shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. Exposure to infectious diseases and potential physical demands associated with patient care. Availability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
