North Falmouth, MA Apply This posting is for a 26-year-old young woman with developmental disabilities and seizures who lives with her mother in North Falmouth. She is a happy, kind, and social person who loves music, singing, animals, family and friends, eating out, arts & crafts, and movies & tv. She has drop seizures and her seizures occur approximately 3 times per week, and if she is standing when the seizure starts, she will fall. Thus, she needs close contact (walk arm-in-arm) during ambulation and needs to be pushed in a wheelchair for long distances. She needs assistance with all ADLs. We are looking for PCA hours for ADLs - to be paid for by PCA. We also have hours available through DDS for what is called \"Self-Direction\" which would entail all other activities, leisure, exercise (going for short walks), getting out into the community, etc. Two different types of work with two different application and funding sources and will be explained during interview process. Candidate can choose either option. Hours are flexible and are predominately evenings and weekends. Appropriate candidate for this posting is a female who physically strong (at least average strength) and at least 5\'5\". Preferably between age 20-50. Must be reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy. Must be non-smoker or at least cannot smoke in or near our home or smell like smoke. Prefer CPR/1st aid certified. Candidate does not need prior experience with people with developmental disabilities or seizures, just a willingness to learn. Mother will provide all training. Applicant should be comfortable with pets: Yes Applicant should be a non-smoker: Yes Activities of Daily Living that worker is required to perform: assistance with medications or other health-related needs bathing/grooming dressing or undressing meal preparation and clean-up mobility shopping toileting transportation Additional experience with higher level of ADL care: Bladder care Bowel care Position involves working with: Adults Desired Languages spoken:
