Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to patients across various care settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and community-based services. Responsibilities Assist with daily patient care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices Monitor vital signs, document medical records accurately, and report changes in patient conditions promptly Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards Maintain a safe environment by practicing aseptic techniques, catheter care, and infection control protocols in compliance with healthcare guidelines Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams in settings including ICU, emergency medicine, behavioral health units, and post-acute care facilities Provide compassionate support for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort during memory or dementia care activities Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs in inpatient or outpatient settings Experience Prior experience working in critical care environments such as ICU, Level I Trauma Centers, or emergency departments is highly desirable Demonstrated knowledge of medical-surgical procedures, geriatrics, pediatrics, or home & community care is preferred Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation is advantageous Background in caring for individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs enhances your suitability for this role Familiarity with infection control practices including aseptic technique and working within HIPAA guidelines is essential Previous roles involving medication administration, vital signs monitoring, or catheter care will strengthen your application Certification in basic life support (BLS) or other relevant healthcare certifications is a plus Join us to be part of a vibrant team committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care across diverse healthcare environments. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
