Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic psychiatric office team as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), where your quick thinking and compassionate care will make a vital difference in people's lives during their most critical moments. In this energetic role, you will provide immediate medical assistance, assess patient conditions, and deliver essential care in diverse environments including emergency scenes, hospitals, and transport settings. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive timely, effective treatment while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times. Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses. Manage airway patency, administer injections, medications, and other critical interventions following established protocols.. monitoring vital signs and providing critical care during office visits Maintain accurate documentation of patient care reports, treatment provided, vital signs recorded, and other essential records for legal and medical purposes. Collaborate effectively with hospital staff, emergency room personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient handoff and continuity of care. Requirements Valid EMT certification with current licensure recognized by state authorities; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are required. Proven experience in emergency medicine settings, including hospital environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics. Critical care experience preferred, especially within Level I Trauma Centers or critical care transport scenarios. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, venipuncture techniques, airway management, and medication administration protocols. Ability to perform physical examinations accurately and assess patient conditions swiftly under pressure. Experience with medical device operation (DME), injection administration, and vital signs monitoring essential for effective patient management. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to lift heavy equipment or patients safely when necessary. Familiarity with triage procedures and urgent care protocols to prioritize treatment efficiently in high-stakes situations.
