Job Overview Join our team as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, where your skills will make a vital difference in saving lives and providing critical patient care. In this role, you will deliver prompt, professional pre-hospital medical services, ensuring patient safety and comfort during emergencies. Your expertise will support a fast-paced environment, working alongside healthcare professionals to stabilize and transport patients efficiently. Responsibilities Respond swiftly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention to patients at the scene and during transport Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations, to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses Manage airway, breathing, and circulation issues through airway management techniques and basic life support procedures Administer medications and injections as authorized Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating proficient driving skills and heavy lifting capabilities during patient extrication and transfer Document all patient interactions accurately, including medical history, vital signs, treatments administered, and transport details Requirements Valid State of Michigan EMT License Required with demonstrated EMT experience in emergency medicine settings Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, venipuncture techniques, and medication administration is essential Proficiency in patient assessment skills including vital signs monitoring and physical examinations Ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining professionalism and compassion Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to perform heavy lifting safely as required
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
