The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) is seeking candidates 55 years of age and older for the position of Safety and Health Technician with the
U.S. EPA
Senior Environmental Employment Program
CSSD/GLCSB
Division.
General Summary:
Support the Safety, Health and Environmental Management Program at EPA Duluth Lab by performing technician and administrative tasks required for site regulatory compliance.
Program Qualifications:
55 years of age and older (in accordance with Public Law 98-313 and the Older American Workers Act) a US citizen be eligible to work in the
US Job Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in safety and environmental compliance and/or hands-on laboratory work or AA in Chemistry, Environmental, Life or Physical Sciences. Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and etc)
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with management of hazardous waste: collection, inspection and inventory. Requires ability to safely lift and pour chemical containers up to 20lbs. Assist with management of chemical inventory: enter new items, update inventory transactions, update associated reports and signage. Laboratory safety equipment inspection, testing, and certification. Assist with chemical Hygiene plan implementation: manage safety data sheets, hazard signage.
Assist with sample collection:
collect water, air and hazardous waste samples, collect radnet samples. Provide administrative support for data entry, reporting, and filing relating to compliance programs.
Benefits:

$19.21 per hour
