Short Description Some of the primary duties that GI technicians perform include: GI Technicians prepare rooms and equipment before bronchoscope procedures and clean up and sterilize after procedures Maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies for bronchoscope procedure Ensuring equipment functions properly Preparing waiting and recovery rooms or procedure suites Maintaining bronchoscope equipment, including cleaning, disinfecting and calibrating instruments according to manufacturer guidelines Transporting patients according to medical personnel instructions- Helping physicians and nurses perform procedures Attending training as necessary to enhance or refresh skills Collecting specimens from patients Collaborating effectively with other care providers regarding procedures and patients' conditions Staying current on bronchoscopy developments by reading literature, speaking with colleagues or participating in professional organizations Assists with Business Office Support duties and will be trained to EPIC applications and front desk registration & copay collection Experience Required GI tech experience and/or patient care experience (medical assistant, patient care technician, etc.) Must have the ability to learn IDX and EPIC applications Strong customer service skills preferred, some desk duties required Education Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent required License/Certification Requirements Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) Special Requirements Monday to Friday (8:30-5) Salary Min ($) USD $17.50 Salary Max ($) USD $27.00
