Job Description

Responsible for preparing and operating x-ray equipment during diagnostic patient exams while exercising procedures safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis
Principal Accountabilities:
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities (such as X-ray, C T, MRI, Ultrasound, or Mammography) in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. Ensure the highest quality images are produced while prioritizing patient safety and comfort during all imaging procedures. Verify patient identification, review medical history, and confirm exam indications to ensure appropriate imaging techniques are utilized. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, performing basic troubleshooting and reporting any equipment malfunctions promptly. Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards to protect patients, staff, and self. C ollaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely completion of imaging exams. Manage workflow efficiently across multiple modalities, adjusting priorities to meet patient care and departmental needs. Document all required information accurately in the electronic medical record and imaging systems. Participate in continuing education and cross-training opportunities to maintain competency in multiple imaging modalities. Support departmental quality assurance, safety initiatives, and performance improvement projects as directed. Adheres to all hospital policies, PRIDE values, HIPAA regulations and infection prevention standards Other relevant duties as assigned
Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, which demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities is also required. 2. American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) (R)(M) 3. Current State of NJ Licensure as a Radiology Technologist - Certified 4.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification Preferred:
1. NJ Society of Radiological Technologist (NJSRT) recommended
