NRD, LLC
is seeking a Health Physics Technician who will measure, assess and document radiological conditions in the workplace. Responsibilities include monitoring, surveying and controlling radiological hazards. This role works under the guidance of the Director of Health Physics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a safe working environment. The ideal candidate has a scientific degree, with some lab experience and an interest in a career in radiation protection or Health Physics. Essential Function Perform radiation surveys as necessary and assist the RSO where required. Provide Radiation protection guidance to other members of the NRD staff as needed. Acquire knowledge of NRD, LLC's licenses, permits and procedures. Assist the RSO in implementing the facility wide Health and Safety program and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and standards Familiar with the safe handling at radioactive materials and radioactive contamination control Use of hand-held radiation survey and desktop counting equipment used in a Health Physics Laboratory Assist the RSO in implementing the radiation safety program Qualifications & Skills Required Bachelor or Associates in Science Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures Self motivated, and the ability to work with supervision and professional judgement Proficient user of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proficient in using office equipment such as computer, fax machines, printers, scanning machines, etc. Ability to wear a respiratory protection gear Salary Range Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
