Job Overview:
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing immediate medical care, injury response, and basic life support in a fast-paced industrial setting. This role focuses on rapid assessment, treatment of acute injuries or illnesses, and coordination with external emergency services when necessary. The EMT plays a critical role in promoting workplace safety, supporting injury prevention initiatives, and delivering high-quality care aligned with company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Response & Patient Care:
o Respond promptly to on-site medical emergencies, injuries, and illnesses o Assess patient condition and provide appropriate Basic Life Support (BLS) care o Administer first aid, CPR, AED, and other emergency interventions within scope of practice o Stabilize patients for transport and coordinate with EMS when escalation is required
Injury Treatment and Case Management:
o Offer first-aid treatment for musculoskeletal complaints (e.g., ice, heat) o Utilize Telehealth services when necessary and applicable, along with appropriate documentation and follow-up. o Support workplace safety observations
Communication and Reporting:
o Complete detailed incident reports and medical documentation in required systems o Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies o Maintain confidentiality of all medical information o Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives o Communicate effectively with employees, site leadership, and medical providers o Coordinate care with occupational health staff, athletic trainers, and leadership o Serve as a professional representative of the company on client sites
Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure that administrative tasks (forms, reports, inventory) are completed in a timely manner. o Ensure all certifications and licensure remain current
Equipment & Readiness:
o Maintain emergency medical equipment, supplies, and first aid stations o Conduct routine checks to ensure readiness for emergency response Important note: Each client we work with may differ slightly in their requests regarding programs such as Wellness and Ergonomics. It is ATS' best practice to ensure you understand what your client would like to see in this regard and coordinate with your management team accordingly. This job description is not meant to be inclusive of everything that may be asked of this role. Other duties may be assigned at each site or for each client. Minimum Qualifications:
Current EMT-B or above certification (National Registry, or state-specific) o Minimum one (1) year 911 experience Valid CPR/AED certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers) Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills Willing to travel to various client locations Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and worker's compensation a plus Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and employees Working Conditions ATS operates in industrial and construction settings. As such, you will be conducting business in all weather conditions and environments our clients require. Employees may need to walk on uneven terrain, in dusty environments, etc. Employees may be required to lift up to 25 pounds. Appropriate PPE gear will be assigned to you during Onboarding; It is your responsibility to ensure your own safety by utilizing this gear and any other implements necessary for your safety.
