Typical tasks include:
reading and interpreting ECGs to screen out discrepancies; verifying discrepancy according to Aerospace Medical Certificion regulions, procedures, and aerospace medicine principles; notifying the approprie personnel of the discrepancy; compiling and summarizing da and/or informion consisting of ECG phology codes and maintaining records in the FAA Document Imaging Workflow System (DIWS); and supporting higher level employees in research, examinions, investigions or inspections by requesting further cardiovascular evaluions and/or medical tests. Demonstres some independence in planning time, but frequently coordines with a manager, project/program manager, or more experienced employee to prioritize tasks/assignments and use assigned resources. May help managers and other employees identify resources to accomplish tasks/assignments and small projects. Contacts are both internal and external to the organizion. Internal contacts across the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute, including Legal Instruments Examiners, Physicians, coworkers and managers to share informion and stus on tasks/assignments. Prepares official correspondence to AME's and Airmen requesting additional informion, which may include: requests for medical records, additional studies, eligibility letter, or other requests for additional informion. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for almost all tasks/assignments but allow some discretion for employee to select the most approprie approach(es). Works under general instructions provided by a manager, project/program manager, or more experienced employee. Frequently refers problems and work issues to a manager or more experienced employee when guidelines are not available or applicable. May help them develop and recommend solutions to some problems/issues. Work is reviewed frequently during major stages of tasks/assignments and completion to ensure timeliness and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or work activities. To qualify for this position the FV-F (FG/GS 7/8) level , you must demonstre in your applicion th you possess least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E (FG/GS 5/6) level. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to least the next lower grade level.
Specialized experience includes:
experience reviewing Electrocardiograms (ECGs) for technical and acute problems; interpreting electrocardiograms to screen discrepancies; verifying discrepancies; and utilizing practical knowledge of medical terminology to compile and summarize da consisting of ECG phology codes. OR Gradue educion or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly reled to the work of the position . One full year of gradue educion meets the requirements for FV-F (FG/GS 7/8) level. One year of full-time gradue educion is considered to be the number of credit hours th the school tended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If th informion cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as sisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time gradue educion is creditable in accordance with its relionship to a year of full-time study the school tended. OR Combinion educion and experience may be qualifying for this position.
