7:00 pm - 7:30 am, 12-hours shift, variable scheduled days Your role with us As a clinical tech in the medical services unit at West Valley Hospital, part of the Salem Health system, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting direct patient care and ensuring the smooth, efficient operation of the unit. At West Valley Hospital, you'll be part of a close-knit team that provides personalized, high-quality care to patients in our Dallas, Oregon community. Working under the direction of registered nurses and providers, you'll perform a variety of clinical and support tasks that directly impact patient comfort, safety, and outcomes. You'll collaborate closely with your care team, bringing compassion, technical skill, and attention to detail to every interaction. In this role, your ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and adapt to evolving priorities will make a meaningful difference each day. Helping create a positive experience for patients and supporting a strong, team-oriented work environment. What you'll do Perform basic patient care tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, cardiac monitoring, electrocardiogram (EKGs), bladder scans, splinting, wound care, and phlebotomy. Assist with procedures and tasks delegated by registered nurses and providers, within scope and demonstrated competency. Collaborate with the care team to implement and reinforce the plan of care, reporting changes in patient condition. Provide patient and family education on mobility aids (e.g., walkers and crutches) and reinforce activities of daily living support. Support patient flow by assisting with safe transport, efficient room turnover, and timely rounding. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Accurately document patient information using electronic and verbal communication in line with policy. Participate in shared decision-making, required meetings, and unit initiatives. Fulfill assigned standby hours to meet department needs. Required qualifications Basic Life Support (BLS). Requires one of the following to be considered for hire: CNA license Medical Assistant (MA) license EMT B certification Enrolled in an accredited nursing school Previous experience as an ED tech or in a comparable role (i.e. MA, UAP) Total rewards package Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations, and professional growth.
