Full Job Description Description:
The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking Part-Time Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) for our Pediatric Specialty Hospital. This position works 40 hours in a pay period and are expected to work two 8 or 12 hour weekend shifts per schedule. Under the clinical direction of an RN, an in accordance with established policies and procedures, the PCT will provide care to patients and their families, and will maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic patient-care environment. Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year experience preferred or enrolled into some type of secondary healthcare worker training (i.e., nursing school, CNA training) Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with patients, family members, medical staff, and families in sensitive situations. Ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the nursing team. Physical ability necessary for constant standing, walking, and lifting 10 to 50 lbs. High level of stamina necessary for the frequent lifting and moving of patients and the carrying of supplies and equipment. Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations.
