Job Description

Division/Program Summary:
The mission of the Bureau of Public Health Clinics is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. The Bureau's vision is to provide timely, accessible, high-quality, equitable and respectful care that helps improve the lives of our patients and contributes to a healthier community.Position Summary:
The Public Health Advisor-II will conduct confidential patient interviews at a Sexual Health Center and report directly to the Express Clinic Manager.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct confidential interviews in order to identify and bring for evaluation and/or treatment those contacts, suspects or associates at risk for STIs. 2. Provide education and risk reduction messages, emergency contraception and family planning referrals to patients. 3. May perform confidential field investigations per bureau protocol in order to refer patients, contacts, associates and suspects for exams and/or treatments. 4. Review with patient their reason for visit and what services they are there for to ensure patient is in the correct clinic. 5. Enter data and update information of patients into the EMR system. 6. Prepare and send specimen collection kits for individual patient testing. 7. Order tests in EMR. 8. Collect blood specimens for testing and performs HIV Rapid testing. and give patient results. 9. Post patient results and other information into EMR when applicable. Why you should work for us:•Benefits:
