Multi Skilled Technician Conway Medical Center • One Day Surgery Conway, SC Patient Care Full Time, Primarily 1st Shift- Days, 80 Posted 04/20/2026 Req # 12998
Position Summary:
The Multi-Skilled Technician (MST) will perform a variety of administrative tasks and patient care tasks for patients under the direction of nursing staff. The MST responsibilities include administering treatment and personal care procedures for patients that include tasks such as; meal tray preparation and feeding as appropriate, recording intake and output, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, cleaning and trimming fingernails, bed-making, assisting with ambulation, enemas, skin care, and bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs andfort of assigned patients. The MST will prepare patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required and may escort or transport patients to various hospital locations. The MST will be responsible for administrative duties, which include but are not limited to; receiving, greeting and directing patients, visitors and hospital personnel, provide/resolve requests from patients and guest and referring to nursing staff and other individuals as needed. Other responsibilities include primary focus ofmunication of the unit, and answers phones promptly and refers request to appropriate nursing staff. Additional duties may include cleaning assigned area and stock and replenish supplies and equipment as required. Allanizational staff, including this position, are specifically required as a condition of employment to make advance preparations for their families and pets in the event of weather emergencies such as Hurricanes and flooding threats. Any staff member can be determined as essential staff required to report to the facility during these events. In many cases this means reporting and sleeping at the facility before, during and after a weather emergency. By signing this job description, the staff member accepts this responsibility of readiness to report to work during any designated emergency staffing situation. CMC staff members operate as one team meeting the healthcare needs of ourmunities, thus this position will on occasionplete other duties as assigned beyond those designated in this primary job description which will include "float" coverage at an alternate facility, department or assignment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required. Qualified as a Multi-Skilled Technician through one of nine ways required. Current South Carolina State Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) or; A minimum of one year MST or Clinical secretary experience in a hospital setting or; Successfulpletion of Medical Assistant course or; Phlebotomy training and certification or; Successfulpletion of Dysrhythmia course and passing grade/certification or; EMT or Paramedic Certification or; Acceptance into an Accredited Nursing program and enrolled in the first semester coursework or; Successfulpletion of second year pre-med curriculum track or; A minimum of 1-year prior direct patient caregiver experience (
Ie:
home care, hospice, nursing home etc). Current CMC MST have been hired prior to Oct 1, 2014 grandfatd with on-the-job training without necessarily satisfying any of items 1-9 above.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification must be obtained within 90-days of employment.
Special Skills:
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, department leadership, and other members of the patient care team form various departments. Exemplary core customer service skills of Excellence, Compassion, Healing, Teamwork, Stewardship, Innovation and integrity strongly required. Stronganizational skills required. Strong PC skills required. Strong verbalmunication skills required.
